Prorate Calculator runs a single proration calculator and a small library of explainer articles. The calculator is a static tool that does its math entirely in your browser. That shapes the rest of this policy: there is very little personal data to discuss because we do not have a server collecting it.

What the calculator does with your numbers

When you type a rent amount, days used, or salary figure into the calculator, those numbers stay on your device. They are not sent to us. They are not stored in a database. We never see them. The same applies to any preset values you click.

If you copy a result link to share with someone, the values you entered are encoded into the URL itself. Anyone with that link can see those numbers; we cannot, unless they are shared with us directly.

Theme and consent preferences

We store two small values in your browser using cookies: your light or dark mode choice and whether you dismissed the cookie banner. These cookies are first-party, are not shared with anyone, and persist until you clear them or they expire after one year.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting analytics (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics or Plausible) to count page views and understand which articles are most useful. These services do not set cookies on your browser and do not build a profile of you across other websites. We get aggregate counts only.

Advertising

Some pages may show ads served by Google AdSense. When ads are enabled, Google may set its own cookies on your browser to serve more relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized ads by visiting Google Ad Settings or by using the cookie banner on this site to decline non-essential cookies.

Email you send us

When you email us at the address below, we receive whatever you put in the message, including your email address. We use it only to reply. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not share that address with anyone.

Your rights under GDPR and CCPA

You have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, request a copy, and request its deletion. Because the calculator does not transmit data to us, the only information we typically have is the email content you sent. If you want it deleted, email us and we will remove it.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.
